The day details - Me and my 8 year old son set up on a small field of weak old barley about 12 oclock. We put out about 25 decoys and the birds just started coming in small groups but steady. I was shooting with a browning 12 bore 32inch 3/4 and full using hull sovereign 7 28g . My son was using a 410 i shot82 and my son shot his first 2 birds flying. We should have shot our first 100 plus but the wife phoned , and we had to go home!!

The day details - Just picked a week off and had to hope the weather was going to be good.The day started off very misty ,but some times you just have to hope for the best. Got up to the site bout 8.30. and set bout 20 decoys , 2 on open flight cradles.Things were very quiet till the mist liftedbout 10.00. Then they started to move.My hide was situated on a corner of a small fir block. What little wind there was meant the bird had to all but fly right over top to come in to the decoys.

The day details - arrived on location at around 2.00 pm at my new shooting grounds with my new rizzini 20 bore multi choke (which comes up like a dream!) woodies were flying around everywhere, I had dropped 5 before i`d reached my hide, which I had previously built the day before! After i`d settled down in my hide with a cup of tea, i couldn`t go wrong, I had woodies dropping left, right and centre! It was a good job i brought my faithful labrador, Jet, to find any lost birds. It was getting dark so I decided to pack up as they were coming in less frequently now.On the way back down to my car,I spotted half a dozen tree rats scamper into their drey, ai couldn`t resist the temptation but to pump 2x 34g no.5s through the nest (don`t ask where i got those from, but i knew they would come in handy!) sending three of them to the floor with a thud! the others didnt know what on earth was going on until they also bit the dust, so completing a great afternoons shooting!!

The day details - Put four decoys and a home made pigeon magnet about 25 to 30 yards into the cabbages about 9am, by 10.15am had 16 then the snow came down by 12.30 had to pack up ended up with 17. I was using my lanber multi choke 1/4 & 1/2, express 32gr sixes done the job. Pity about the snow not usual in south west Cornwall.
