The Crop type - Rape
The day details - The day was very cloudy and patchy with rain, we had a very strong eastern wind and the rape was very thick. we set up on a hill on the side of a large valley. we had been watching the pigeon feed for a few weeks and they were feeding on a rape field that nor me or my father had permission for. so we had the idea to cut the flight line further down the road, and what a great idea it was, we set up a scattered pattern on the decoys but still facing the wind, we used 1 magnetic rotary system, 2 pigeon flappers and a good 70 full bodied decoys. the pigeons stated moving very early. and made an instant flight line heading upwards the valley. we were set up in a corner where we hoped the pigeon would cut across us. and to right they did! a good forty were pulled in by the magnet the rest were heading for the rape field they had been feeding over for the past few weeks and we plucked them out as they flew over us. it was a great day.

The day details - I went out about 11 and shot about 4 between 11 and 12.30 and then it got hot, I took some really good birds and they were coming in nicely. I had only taken about 35 cartridges not expecting to see much but I ran out about 1.15 and had bagged 14 pigeons and 1 crow with some other possible kills but could not pick, I really enjoyed my self and knew that had I gone out earlier with more cartridges I could have bagged 30 odd but I'm going out next sat and I will be more prepared this time and hope to get an impressive bag.

The total number of pigeons shot = 16
Gender - male
The gun you used - 12 Bore
Bag Date - 3/2/04
The Crop type - winter wheat
The day details - We arrived at the location at about 9:00am and we set up on some winter wheat, we immediately set up the decoys in a traditional horseshoe pattern. The shooting started slowly, with hardly any birds flying towards the decoys; they just overlooked our decoys and flew on to some rape in the ajoining field. Then suddenly about an hour later the pigeons started to react and we got some brilliant shooting for the rest of the day. Considering this was our first full day's decoying it was a really rewarding day for both of us.

The total number of pigeons shot = 107

The gun you used - 12 Bore
Bag Date - 22.2.04
The Crop type - volunteer rape
The day details - Early start, 6.00, had to move to a different field about lunch time, reset the decoys and whirley gig to suit the wind. The decoy worked a treat for about an hour, then the pigeons seemed to move again. Also to mates where in the near by copse to try to keep the pigeons moving, by 3.30pm things had gone quite. Could had been alot better if the pigeons had kept the flight line.
