The South of England
Pigeon Shooters name - Julian Ellis
Part of UK bag was shot - South East England
The total number of pigeons shot = 9 (5 Pigeons, 4 Crows)
Gender - Male
The gun you used - 12 Bore
Bag Date - 19/8/01
The Crop type - Wheat
The day details - Set up my new pigeon magnet on wheat under an active flightline in North Hampshire. Pigeons started buzzing the magnet immediately and we had lots of shooting (50+ Cartridges shot)-but few hits! Great, challenging shooting for a novice like me. After about a hour of action we retired to the Pub as it started pouring down. The action had also started cooling off after a promising start. Looking forward to using it again but setting up on a field where we know pigeons to be feeding so we can have a really good day.
My Opinion I have heard many good reports about the pigeon magnet and as myself I have found it to be very successful. Unfortunately I have not been able to do any big tests- F&M but will post a review on the site when i do!

The day details - It was a a very hot day, hardly any wind. When I entered field about 80-100 birds feeding I set-up the hide and put out 10 decoys but the pigeons were not very interested, I checked decoys -nothing wrong- I changed position of decoys, still nothing then saw large Buzzard flying to it's nest about 200 yards away from hide I don't know if this was problem as to why not many coming in to decoys, got any other ideas?
My Opinion Seems like you did nothing wrong at all, the fact it was such a hot day meant the birds would not be moving about much and because there was little wind and shots you fired would make the pigeons even more wary. The buzzard in the distance also affected it too I'm sure.
