The Crop type -Freshly Cut Barley
The day details -Shooting was myself (mark) and my shooting companion Trapper. We were shooting on two adjoining fields of freshly cut barley, one had been baled and the other still had about 4 acres left to cut which the combine would finish that evening (monday evening). Each field is probably only 20 acres so we went to see the farmer who said that we could shoot the field in the morning, and that he would not bale the second field so as not to disturb the pigeons, until we had finished. Trapper and I set about making a hide in the field that had been bailed which he would shoot. Tuesday morning came and we arrived at the field around eight o'clock to see about eighty pigeons already feeding on the field trapper was to shoot and about 30-40 on the field i was going to shoot. We sat in the car for about half an hour watching the flight lines into both fields, and discussed what decoy pattern we were going to use. I dropped trapper and his gear into the field next to his hide and left him. I drove into the field I was got 101 and trapper's final total was 191 pigeons. It had been a long tiring day but when we got back to trappers we laid out the birds and crated them and took some photographs, I am on the left in the photo and one of trappers dogs is between us 'tia'. On my way home I dropped in to see the farmer who was pleased with the total we had shot and asked for a dozen birds as he was going to have a BBQ. All round everyone was happy.

The day details -Went out and set out 10 full bodied decoys and about 25 shell decoys.
My opinion Wow shooting the woodies with a rifle! That takes some skill having to decoy them in to land amongst your pattern (and not having a second barrel to shoot at them )!

The day details - It was a nice warm day with a light wind. Ok bag for the area and i was only there for three hours so it wasnt bad.
