The day details - Field had been drilled for 2 days pretty rough seedbed pigeon building up steadily. Decided to hit it the following day bright day good southwesterly wind,set up decoys in an elongated L shape 25 dead birds no sooner back in hide first birds came in managable groups carried on steady for rest of day. Picked up and packed up by 6.30. havent seen a pigeon on the field since still plenty of beans laying on top,hopefully if we get a rain they will come back.

The day details - It was a clear day with a strong wind. It is my biggest bag so far, but i've got alot of years to come cause i'm only 15. The pigeons did not decoy well. There were 8 of us out, it was annoying that the man in the next field shot 225 pigeons. The grand total for that day 1200 pigeons.

The day details - I set my hide up in front of some Ivy bushes, I was using the camoreal woodland netting and it seemed to blend in really well. I was using 21 flexi decoys and two pinewood floaters and an angel at the head of the pattern, the wind was at my back so this gave me the perfect decoying situation. The birds came in steady all day, but they certainly seemed to decoy much better once I set three of the crows out to one side of my horseshoe pattern.

The day details - Foggy start to the day, was unable to set up until 10.30 in virtually no wind, birds a bit decoy shy, but decoyed well once about 20 out, dried up about 2ish, (flightline to near by rape) but good to get a few without carrying a battery and pigeon magnet.

The day details - We set up at 2pm. We set out 10 dead decoys and the whirley. There was no wind and it was bright sun shine. This didn't deter them. We shot 55 from 2pm-4.30pm.

The Crop type - Flight
The day details - Whlist driving through our farm, I noticed a strong flight line leading into a strip of swiped maize. However the pigeons were actually by-passing the maize and heading into a wood 200m further on. I set up 6 decoys on a grass set-aside strip directly in front of the wood. From 2.00pm to 3.30pm, I shot 61 pigeons and can only say the quality of the birds was better than driven grouse! Sadly, as quickly as it all started, the flight simply stopped. What fantastic sport.

The day details - Met a fellow pigeon shooter in a wood, he had a magnet set up on some plough near some maize stubble, as I wasnt having much luck, he asked me to join him. The pigeons kept coming and we picked up 78 - I'm now looking to buy a magnet for myself.

The day details - I had quite a good days shooting despite the birds not decoying, I was using a magnet and about 20 flexi decoys and a pinewood floater, I tried a number of different patterns and I even turned the magnet off to see if that was the problem but still no joy. Every time I shot a bird I would put it into the pattern and bring in a flexi decoy so in the end I had all dead birds but even this did not bring the birds in, I guess it was just one of those days.

The day details - Quite a windy day,we were originally going to set up in the middle of the field, instead we decided on an hedge which was less windy. Out went the whirly and deeks, straight away the birds were dropping in,we had shot about twenty when a lady asked us to stop shooting as it was spooking her horses,to good to be true we thought birds coming and she wants us to stop. We decided to move further down the field,the move did not seem to matter as soon as we had set up again they were straight back in. All l can describe it as was like shooting a drilling, very rare on winter rape when if you get into the double figures your doing well,we ended up with 108 in the bag, RED LETTER DAY.
